In short: Ducted heating is installed out of sight. On Beveridge builds we have found it crimped, bent too tightly and disconnected, at more than one stage.
At lock-up
In October 2025 a Beveridge lock-up inspection found heating and cooling ducts with tight bends and crimps in the roof space, poorly supported. Airflow drops sharply through a crimp, and the rooms at the end of the run feel it most.
At handover
In February 2026 another Beveridge home reached practical completion with ducts still tightly bent and crimped. In August 2026 a third had ducts loose or not connected at all, so conditioned air was going into the roof rather than the rooms.
Why it is missed
Nobody walks the roof at a supervisor handover. The vents look normal from the room, and the system is commissioned on the day, so a weak outlet is easy to put down to settings.
