The termite notice in your meter box

A small label that tells you what termite protection the house has.

Beveridge 3753 · 13 January 2026

In short: The termite management notice records what system was installed. We look for it on new builds and on resales.

What it is

A durable notice, usually inside the meter box, stating the termite management system used and the recommended inspection interval.

Missing on resales

On pre-purchase inspections we often find no notice at all, which leaves a buyer guessing what protection exists.

Missing on new builds

At a Beveridge slab inspection the notice was not yet in the meter box. It should be in place by the time the protection is installed.

Barriers get breached

At lock-up and fixing on Beveridge builds we have recorded protection breached and a physical barrier disturbed by later trades.

What to do

Ask the builder or vendor for the installer's certificate and keep it with your house documents.
