Common defects in Beveridge homes
Across our Beveridge reports from 2025 and 2026, the major items have clustered at three points: slab beams before the pour, load paths at frame, and the roof space at lock-up and handover. Ty P., Hany A. and Kosie T. carried out most of these inspections.
At the slab
Internal beams pinched by pods, beams uneven in width, mesh laps short and bar chairs missing.
At frame
Trusses bearing on non-load-bearing walls, tie-downs missing, slack strap bracing and waste points in the wrong place.
In the roof
Ducts crimped or disconnected, sarking sagging or cut, and exhausts never ducted to outside air.
At handover
Leaking wastes, facade material not matching the selections, gutters holding water and doors without seals.
Carried forward
On one Beveridge build none of the frame items had been fixed by lock-up. That is why every report lists open items from the stage before.
